Opening Hours of the Vatican Museums
Monday - Saturday9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.)
Last Sunday of the month: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (last admission 12.30 p.m.). Free admission.
Closure: The Vatican Museums are closed every Sunday except the last one of the month, and on specific holidays such as 1 January, 11 February, 19 March, Easter Day, 29 June, 15 August and 25 and 26 December.
How to get to the Vatican Museums in Rome
Metro: Take the line A (the red line) and get off at the "Cyprus - Vatican Museums". From here, it is about a 10-minute walk to the entrance of the Museums.
Buses: Routes 49, 32, 81, 982 (stop in front of the entrance to the Vatican Museums) Line 492 and 990 (bus stop at Piazza del Risorgimento, a few minutes' walk from the entrance)
Tram: Line 19 to Piazza del Risorgimento
On Foot: If you are in the vicinity of St. Peter's Square, you can walk to the Vatican Museums in about 10-15 minutes, following Via di Porta Angelica and then turning right onto Viale Vaticano.
